The things that i have been busy with the past few weeks of jan were
1. hosp attachment at cgh for 2 wks
2. being a maria
I had a really great tutor, Dr Joan Khoo, a A/C of internal med, who took time to teach me stuff, going through clinical examinations skills that im supposed to have and going to take a test for. Teaching me both basic science and diagnostic skills of which i have zero clues to. And everytime she asks me a qns, i will either give a stupid ans or most of the time i will say i dont not. That really makes me feel stupid and i feel the need to really start studying (unfortunately, my 2nd activity above prevents me from doing so now). Plus she actually bothers to arrange clinics from other depts for me to sit in, which i reckon other docs seldom do for their students.
And i think that doing internal med really requires alot of investigative skills and knowing alot of those basic sci stuff that i always throw away after an exam.
And after morning rounds, my doc will treat her team of docs (HO and MOs plus me this student) to drinks. And while drinkign, there will actually be gossips abt this doc and that doc, this patient and that patient. So even if these pple are docs, they are just humans. And when there are humans there will be politics. Scary actually, to hear all the things that go on behind the doors.
And about being maria, i have alr complained to a couple of frens alr. Because cny is coming, the usual cleaning starts: taking down curtains, cleaning windows, washin bedsheets, packing up my room, sweeping and mopping floor. Oh and now adding to the list is cooking lunch and dinner when im home. But at least my food is still edible muahaha.

ok tmr maria has asked for a day off from mum and sir to go out. So tmr's occupation will be that of a student. I m going to start studying!!!

2009 was a pretty good and fun year. It was the year when
- i was no longer the noob freshie in uni again but a 2nd year
- i had to be somewhat a leader in projects
-doing projects, assignments and going for tests becomes abit jaded
-going back to syd didnt make me feel homesick bcos i was feeling comfortable living there with my friends (:
-my sister went over to syd to work and i can finally say i have real family there
-i made new friends and discovered diff sides of people
-oh yes, i gained weight
-i did the half marathon without actually training for it
-i planned a whole road trip for my friends and had great fun
-i started to drink a little more than usual
-i discovered my love for toot-iness
It will be another long year in 2010 but i hope that it will be a fun and interesting year, considering that i will be starting clinicals this year.
