Today is the result of a couple of days planning and organization. Seldom organised surprise parties for friends but it is pretty fun and satisfying.
So after sending emails to tell the rest of the singaporeans abt the mini gathering after lessons today and to ask whether they want to chip in for the nice, delicious bday cake and present, scouting for optical mouse in dodgy computer shops around the school (which beat and i finaly found a rather good one at post office), finding alternative presents i.e soft toys (after all she still acts like a kid and she needs sth to hug to sleep), pre-ordering the cake the day before and trudging through the rain, the surprise didnt exactly turn out as a surprise.
A few hiccups along the way (my acting skills to act all distress and sad still made her suspicious for that tad while, and other pple asking her too many qns, and the other co-star, charlie, arriving late) made me having to stall time before the rest could get the stuff ready. So obviously, my perfect plan was ruined once there was a need to stall for time. At least she was surprised that EVERYONE was there. She knew sth was up but didnt expect the whole group of us to be gathered there.
We bought a really girly card for her that is all purple and pink.. so un-her. But the cute part at the cover of the card is that chrisite wrote: 20.. the day you turn girly. LOL. And she loves the optical mouse we got (cos her previous one spoilt and she said she might not get one cos need to pay for it). Ha. Good and practical. The following excerpt of our msn convo proves my pt. lol.
oi..."Problems are only opportunities with thorns on them." says:
i m falling in love wif the mouse
oi..."Problems are only opportunities with thorns on them." says:
so fun

GOT MOUSE AGAIN
So CHONG OI FONG, the auntie/ah ma/ house mice/ pig/ cow/ sheep/ elephant See those small green tents. Was meant for 1 person but oi and i literally squeezed inside side by side. And it's this tent that protected us through 2 major thunderstorm on the last night, which ended up flooding our campsite. Not kidding. There was literally 'stream's flowing through when we woke up on the last morning.
And now we see jordan's excellent photography skills with his excellent camera that survived the sands during the sand boarding.
Shadows. Heaps of them:
4 silhouettes of the girls.
Our eating place for our meals. I had an overdose of meat.
breakfast: bacon and eggs (chao da cos cook with bbq pit)
lunch: sausage and bread (also chao da) -- we seriously think that our life span is shortened with all the carcinogens we had consumed
dinner: good spread of pork, lamb and chicken. The pork and lamb was like country style--WHOLE animal into the bbq pit to roast and then sliced to serve us.
The farmers--stephen and danial nott. Catching a lamb, opening its mouth to tell us how they see the age of the lambs by counting the number of teeth.
Shannon nott--3rd yr medical student of unsw, future inheritor of his father's 3500 ha property-- CASTRATING a male calf. The poor calf was so scared that it was pooing all over the place and moo-ing really loud for its mum.
and of course, the typical sheep shearing display
When all the farm stuff was done, it was cam whoring time. But this time, the scenary makes the pictures look really good.
This is like the cover of an album right! hahah.. we can do a 写真纪 alr. lol. And oi came up with the group name: DOC--doanna oifong christie--ha.. cool right.
Group shot with the rest of the unsw med kids.
It was time to go back to the city after a good lunch at civilisation ie. a winery before sitting on the bus for another 4 hours to reach sydney.
The last thing we saw before we headed back to sydney. A famous anglican church in newcastle.
At Nobby's Beach. 11 of us. 3 cars. One big family. (:
One of the many jumping shots that oi and i have. EVERY place that we go to we would have a jumping shot. I tell her to compile a jumping shot album collection on facebook one day.
Sunset at nobby's, using my sunglasses as an 'added' effect.
Sandboarding!! Worth the money spent. The going down was fun but the climbing up the steep slope was not funny. Gosh. The next day i had back ache.
Christie with her close up. Must really thank the boys who took nice pics. And the 'casualties' affected were oi and mike's cam. Sand went into it and totally KO the cams.
Looks like sahara desert eh.
Totally love this photo. We are good at posing.haha.
The car and the 'inhabitants'.
So that's a dozen wine bottles plus another 2 more that andrew was carrying. So 14 bottles amongst 11 of us.
