In Spore, we go to starbucks, macs or any air conditioned place to chill.

In Aussie, we go to coogee beach, a 15 mins walk away, after sch on mon to chill. Literally. The wind was strong and cold but we continued staying there until the sun set because the air was so fresh and nice (: This is what happens when we see the timetable for the next course and decided that we shouldnt study so hard for the non-graded test on mon and enjoy ourselves while we can before the real thing starts.

All of them wore the hoods to prevent their hair from flying everywhere and apparently it can really help to keep warm too.

the sun, the sea, the wind and the grass (:
and a guy was kind enough to help us with the photo taking after he saw us trying to use the timer. we were all ready to run after him should he take off with the cam.
but he was nice and told us to take a couple more. he sounded like a pro photographer.

the jumping shots were definitely not initiated by me

oi wanted to act cool. taking a shot of her back instead

and apparently all of them have never taken this kinda photo
ok.. this is real cute. got story. yanni vs beat. starting of the fight
and beat managed to kick yanni real hard
which resulted in the defeat of yanni.

i have no idea what oi is doing. she's either hiding her head away from the wind or she's acting to be some mugger-like person, ready to pounce on pple

we had food!!! french toast! although the bread has expired one day but it still taste ok.(:

the girls!!
the sun set was really nice at 530! although we couldnt see the sun cos coogee faces the east (we should wake up early for the sun rise but that is not possible)

the guys

the red sky is so PRETTY!!

i think these photos look so calendar-ish or postcard-ish

that's us at the side walking home at 6pm with the beautiful coogee as the backdrop

I just had half a packet of tim tam crush all by myself!!! Sometimes i feel disgusted with myself. This is the con of staying at home to study because everything (particularly the extensive amount of junk food in my room) is within reach. And my junk food supply is being replenished at the rate it is going into my tummy cos i buy sth EVERY WEEK when i do grocery! sheesh..

At this rate, i will be as what my sister says, 'fat fat round round' at the end of winter. And not being able to jog in the cold doesnt really help either.

So on top of eating local food in spore, there must be intensive jogging!!

I just had a really interesting conversation with jieyu over dinner. We had a discussion about the differences between catholic and christian faith, beliefs and practices. And while i questioned her about certain things such as celibacy where pastors are allowed to start a family while priests arent allowed, she could back up her argument with examples from the bible. And me being not really familiar with the bible (or as well as her cos she goes for bible studies and my knowledge of the bible is just based on readings during masses in church), the questions were directed back at me again, with me being unable to give her an explanation that is backed from the bible.

Some of the questions that we raised were sth like:

and some others, but these are the main points. So i actually did self directed learning: research!! Yes, im spending my time on such stuff but am proud to say that i kinda understand why some of these are done. Some of the explanation are too cheem for me to understand cos hey, priests spend 7 years of their life to learn and understand about these historical doctrines, teachings and practises, what more can one expect from an undergrad who spend abt 2 hrs scanning through some of the super wordy text and picking out relevant stuff.

Anyway, the fundamental thing about Catholic teachings is that it is based on the Scriptures AND tradition, which is passed down from generations and are not recorded in text whereas Protestant beliefs are under the basis of the bible only. Conclusion at the end of this night? Just have faith.

Ok now on to the nitty gritty things that are happening in my life. ALL PROJECT AND ASSIGNMENTS ARE FINALLY OVER! The presentation was screwed and the facilitator obviously knew we didnt rehearse but oh well, it's JUST foundations.

Because i get frozen toes nowadays, i actualy wear socks at home with slippers. So imagine me walking ard the hse with yellow socks and orange slippers. yeah.. quite cartoon i noe. Then i get an excuse to buy a pair of boots for myself. it's black, slightly above ankle and it was having 30% discount! whaha.. so paid $30 for it. i actually get to wear boots to sch! looks cool and my toes are warm!!

And today, i went to chocol'art, a really nice chocolate cafe that serves fantabulous chocolate drinks and has make-u-salivate brownies, rocky roads and choc moouse. It was actually a short catch up with ching joo, a snr from vj whom i kinda noe but not really familiar with and is in 2nd yr med. So anw, it was a im-gonna-get-diabetes-soon kinda session cos my choco crunch was superbly sweet and rich with thick choc. A nice indulgence of $5.50 that cannot be done too often.

okok tancy and nic, if u are reading this, i noe what u guys are gonna say. but shhh!! the whole world gets it already. there is no need to blatently spell it out. thank u very much.

i have ran out of pics to post online alr bcos there is NOTHING interesting to do these few weeks. It has been school and home. Wait till after end of april, after our 1 hr paper (10 mcq, 2 short ans qns) which is peer marked and not counted in our academic transcript before we go on a outing to beaches, shopping and k-ing. LOADS of things that we all wanna do but can only do after 28.

Then there's a draft portfolio that we have to do which is basically a reflective thingy on certain stuff like effective communication and teamwork. Totally crap, we think. And im not good at writing this kinda of things. To the locals, it's a piece of cake. There was an individual assignment that we had to do on one medical hero in aust which nearly sucked the energy and attention out of most of us. AND there's a grp project with presentation that is to be handed in next wk. Everyone's really cool and slack about it, so i will just go with the flow. Although i cant really stand this kinda last minute rush of work but i have learnt that it is the easy way out if i have to work with them. it's better than unnecessary work and worries.

So see pple!! im not that really free and slack over here! Although we are like paying 10k to learn A levels stuff. But there's still other new stuff that is giving us headaches like anat and pathology!!!! sheesh.. 2 more weeks before foundation course ends and the REAL thing starts. After foundations, every assignment and exam will be counted!!

But still we are commenting that the course here is way slacker than in nus. Longest day is 9-5 with 2 1-hr breaks in between. A short day can be about 2 hours of lec or 2 hours of prac. There can be off days too!! I had 2 last few weeks and going to have another one on wed.. whahaha.. but cant use the off day to play anymore. MUST MUG!!

Oh and another thing, i have joined this bible study group named focus IBF (international bible fellowship). BS is rather good but sometimes the pple can be rather pushy at times. They call, sms, email , and even give send facebook msgs!!! Can be rather scary. but i guess if i turn up often, they will stop all these nonsense and leave me alone. No idea why but the girls get all these nonsense but the guys dont! sheesh. If not for me wanting to know more about the bible and the rather big number of spore med students in my grp, i wouldnt have joined this grp. just hope they wont send anymore facebook msgs!! That is really 'up there'!!
