Christmas has came and gone and that means the new year is coming. Been pigging out alot during this festive season and yes i have to admit that i have put on weight. Even choon yong and hongjun say my face looks chubbier. Goodness. So for all those old frens out there who keep asking me to eat more since sec sch so that i wont look so skinny and like a bamboo, ur wish has finally come true. I have definitely put on weight. Nevertheless, i wont say no to good food.
Im also having the time of my life, going out almost everyday with different grps of pple. Movies, eating, shopping, and most recently, cycling at ubin!! Whee!! Exercising is good. Can burn all the excess calories! Pictures on facebook. Too lazy to upload all the photos here again on blogger. Each time can only upload 5 and it takes super long.

But come jan, i will probably be staying at home most of the time cos everyone else is busy with sch work. Ok so i will be relatively free. Quick come date me! ahaha

Another recommendation! Togi restaurant at mosque st along chinatown area. little cosy place albeit a bit noisy. An endless stream of customers throughout the night starting from 6 till i dont noe what time. Ohh but most importantly, the food is great and the price relatively reasonable. Cost 56 for 4 pple for 5 dishes. It is opened by this cute polite korean lady whose english is not exactly understandable but she is really sweet.

authentic utensils! i have gd chopstick skills unlike my father who cant hold the food properly. lousy!
Side dishes. And free flow too! Ordered alot of rounds of kimchi and sambal ikan bilis. Kimchi is delicious cos it is not very spicy yet it is sour enough to whet the appetite.

Cold korean tea(not sure what it is actually) with a small pretty plate for the side dishes

Bim Bi Bab. Looks kinda disgusting here cos it has been tossed by the waitress and i wasnt fast enough to stop her to take the photo. But it doesnt taste like how it looks. Delicious! Nicer than the one at the meridian food court where i always go eat cheap korean food.
I thot this was kimchi man du(dumplings). Have been wanting to eat those since i watched hello miss! and they were making those and it looked delicious. unfortunately it turned out to be a disappointment cos there wasnt kimchi inside(i think i read the menu wrongly) but some veg and minced meat.
spicy chicken! super spicy but it was shiok! especially when eaten with lettuce(which is also free flow) finally eating the lettuce 'bao' meat like what i see in the shows!
Wrapping the meat in progress!

fried nian gao with dumplings and korean fish cake. too much black pepper but the nian gao was very chewy and QQ.
spicy silken tofu soup with seafood. Spicy dao shiok! But as it was the last dish, didnt really drink alot cos i was soon reaching stomach capacity.
viola! End of dinner! No more food left on the table except for the sauce and some onions.
Went to Hk kim gary AGAIN on mon, after watching my long anticipated HERO movie. Yes.. slow.. only watched it after it came out 1 month agon. But still it was a nice movie. (: Went there for tea and tried the toasts.
French toast! See the blob of butter there? fattening yes but it kinda makes it nicer to eat. And there is peanut butter in between the slices.
Thick peanut butter toast with condensed milk. Was wondering if they used a stencil to pour the condensed milk. Kinda cool.

I think i will soon turn this blog into a food blog. Every where i go i will always take photos of the food that we order. Yesterday went to HK Kim Gary Restaurant at vivo 2nd level. It's a really gd recommendation because the set lunch which can consist of noodles, rice, baked rice/pasta comes with free drink and soup. Cost price is only about 10 bucks. As compared to the xin wang cafe, the cheese baked rice here is way nicer and the yuan yang taste more authentic(like the ones in HK). The last time i tried the yuan yang at xin wang, it taste more like nai cha than yuan yang and 1 cup is more expensive in xin wang. Didnt really like the aloe vera drink bcos it tasted more of canned lychee/ longan syrup with aloe pieces. Iced milo is worth the try cos it is v thick and chocolatey. Photos will show u what i mean. no use describing.

The paper on the table. There are a few branched in hk and msia but there is only one in spore. In no time there will be more sprouting outin spore. The food is quite authentic hk cafe food. (:
Theodore going to get high on sugar. Ordered milo for him but in the end he swiped the aloe vera drink.
One of the few pics with him being so cute.
Longan with aloe vera drink served in a glass container. After that we saw this container at giant selling at $3.20 for each.

Cream soup that comes with the set lunch. If order noodles, there is no soup cos noodles are already in soup.
Borsch soup aka veg soup
shanghai style pork chop rice.
cheese pork baked rice with corn white sauce. yum
cheese chicken baked rice in italian red sauce. served in bamboo basket. cool idea

pork chop and preserved vegetables noodle
wanton noodles. dont like the wanton cos it has alot of the chopped vege. prefer the traditional ones with prawn in it.
Hot&spicy noodles. the bowl was astonishingly huge. shocked dio. super potent! not for the weak stomach. But the chicken wings are delicious. It was well marinated. Tasty!!
After lunch, was supposed to watch hero movie with yingqi and yiki. but... there are no more screenings in the afternoon!!! They were all in the mornings. Hai.. so disappointed. In the end we watched the warlords aka tou ming zhuang. It was very bloody and gory, with many scenes of severed limbs and heads. And it was a tragic ending. Everyone got killed by someone close to them. yingqi and i were squirming in our seats and commenting alot during the show while yiki just sat there with no expression at all. Shocked dio. Then yingqi pang seh us to join her church frens for dinner so the 2 of us went to waraku pasta. yummy pasta but it gets kinda ni after eating for a while.
curry pork chop fettucinne
pork chop with egg fettucinne
i realise that i ate alot of pork yesterday. haha.

swEAT camp wasnt anything i thot it would be.
One, we didnt sweat from the physical activities. Instead we were wet from the rain.
Two, we ate alot. And we unexpectedly formed a pig family aka te (pig in hokkien) club aka slack club aka hi5. Our cosy little family with a pig sty at sister island comprising of te ma, te bu, te peh, da da jie, da jie, er mei, san mei, si mei, wu mei and uncles cum twin brothers.
Three, we slacked alot. As expected since we are pig family.
Four, we were always high and will start belting out songs and sing them out loud. This is especially so after we have eaten or had a sugar rush. Oh and because of that, we won the best grp cos we were always enthu, always shouting 1 2 3 4 Hi5!!
Day 1's activities were cage soccer, touch rugby and dragon boating, Soccer was indoors and was really played in a cage-like area at kallang. The rent was super expensive la. Heard that it cost 60 bucks for an hour. Woah. Touch rug was taught by ian and his coach. Couldnt grasp the concept very well, what with all the back passes and touch. So didnt really enjoy it, esp so since we were playing the rain and muddy grass. Dragon boating was better because the rain was smaller and towards the end it stopped. Being the pigs that we are, we came in the last for the races but it was good fun. Our motivation was roti prata, murtubak and teh tarik. Yepp.. we were super hungry.
Had tent pitching in the morning at east coast but bcos of the rain and the lousy tents which had holes, all the tents were flooded. And it was impossible to sleep in tents in that condition. Sweat campreally shouldtn ne organised during this time of the year, in the monsoon season. Anw, we went back to nus to slepp and we love it there cos there is clean toilets to bathe, drinking water and FOOD!!!! Rushed to megabites to eat dinner and we totally love the hot soup!! yum! After that it was the arranged bbq and that was our 2nd dinner. Hungry piggies.
Going for any nus camp, sdu will most probably be the sponsor. And as expected we will have to play the sp game. The funny thing about the one this time is that my sp unexpectedly turn out to be our facilitator aka ah ma. When he said sth, i said, " your voice sounds very familiar, are u jereld?" Then he said,"how u noe? who are u?" then the game was over. We took out our blindfold and had fun ka chiao-ing the other pple. Took photos with the blindfolded pple from our group and disturb them and the sp.
On to the 2nd day. Supposed to get to ecp by 10 OTOT. Wanted to be on time but ended up being late. At 9, we were still at nus eating our breakfast. So we were asked to take the lorry with the comm members, sitting at the back witht the skates. Uncomfotable cos of the uneven ground at the back of the lorry and was squashed lik sardines. First time siting at the back of lorry driving along the expressway with the strong wind and drizzle falling on us. But after a while, the sun came out and we were all so happy bcos we could finally get our tan and not be drenched.
Wanted to learn how to turn during blading but gave up in the end and just bladed around witht the rest. because i couldnt stop in time, i rammed into a bunch of bougainvilla and had a small thorn below the skin of my finger which i only managed to remove today. OHH.. and our grp apparently is quite pro in blading cos we won a competition against another team. Windsurfing was next. Fun but the session was too short. Spent only 40 mins in the water before we had to pack up. Whne i went up the first time, it was lucky that my sail managed to catch the wind and i was quite stable and i sailed out a short distance. Not bad for a first timer! Could have gone further but ws scared that i couldnt come back so i dropped the sail and swam back with the board. The feeling of standing on the board and moving with the wind is so cool. Have the urge to sign up for a windsurfing course and really learn the correct way of doing it.
Next was big sister island. took the ferry and by the time we reached there it was pitch dark. had to use torch light to navigate our way around and with stick lights on the ground too. Seeing the stars from there was so pretty. Can never see so many of them at main land. outdoor cooking for dinner and they gave alot of food. So much that i didnt eat my mutton curry that jereld bought to jia liao. Dinner was from 9-11 with the sp grps (mine was cookie)and after that it was eco-challenge ard the island. Thot at first that it was fright night but it turned out that it was some treasure hunt to explore the island. Walked the whole night for 2 hrs but i was lucky to have esther for company. And not forgetting ninja turtle/shrek aka sp aka jereld too!!That ended at 2 and after that we had food fest(junk food bought before boarding ferry) till 3 then it was off to lala land. Oh.. all dirty pigs didnt bathe that day cos we were too tired. had powder bath though.
Oh sleeping area for that night was a big big pavilion. thanks to ah pa who picked the big one. And it was lucky that it didnt rain until the early morning and it was only a small drizzle. Photo taking at the island then it was off to main land.
I will miss my PIG family!! oink oink!

This is my record so far: going to orchard for the 4th time in a week and staying in orchard for 11 hrs in a day eating, shopping and chatting.
So happy today cos i got to see all of my clapping club peeps! esp loreen whom i have not seen in ages. oohh.. and i have discovered the perks of having a fren who works in mango. They get to reserve clothes now and pay them at the discounted price. Mango sale next week!! Whee~~ But most of the season's clothes are the winter series. oh and we saw kumat shopping at mango. Mango=ladies wear... wellss.. And we saw huang biren shopping for clothes at isetan wisma. She lloks so pretty in person and very pregnant. Didnt noe that she was going into motherhood.
New place to take photos: inside wisma shopping centre.

I love shopping and chatting with these gals! 4 hrs of non stop talk at food republic. cool eh.

I have just joined facebook and i must say that it was lucky that i decided to join after my exams because it is very addictive. So many types of applications around. Sending and receiving gifts are sooo fun. My sister says im crazy but i think after a while the novelty will wear off for me. i get bored easily anyway.
Been on the computer the whole day today. It's such a nice weather (raining non-stop from mornin till night) to stay at home, laze around and and surf on the internet without something nagging at me at the back of my head.
Oh yes, im in the mood for baking recently. Made a cheesecake yesterday. I thot it tasted ok but my sister says it is too cheesy, too hard and not fluffy enough. Ok, cake fail. I should probably stick to making cookies, which should be much easier. And if it is successful, I can give as xmas presents! (: Oh let me correct that. It MUST be successful, because i need to show to my sister that my enthusiasm for baking isnt some 3 min fervour and that the end product is delicious. Baking starts next week when the new stove cum oven comes.

Exams are over and out! Been looking forward to this day for a very long time already. Quite lucky that my papers end today because i noe of alot others who end theirs on wed or thurs.
Watched ENCHANTED with yingqi and i must say that i love it! Love the princessy feel of it all and how the show is so fantasy-like. And not forgetting that there is McDreamy!! ( If you watch grey's anatomy, you will know who im referring to) The laughter induced parts where the princess sang to invite her animal friends to help her in cleaning at NY saw hoardes of rats, cockroaches, pigeons and houseflies!! And also the part when she started belting out a song at the park and attracted a whole lot of pple to begin singing with her too. Hilarious i tell u. Watching a laughing induced show (but definitely not lame, slap-stick jokes with sexual innuendo) is a good way to end the exams. With a big bang of course. (:
Before the movie, we stuffed ourselves silly with jap food at 6. Cant really blame us since our last meal, which was supposedly to be lunch, was at 11-nish. 7 hours since we last ate. Of course we were starving. Tonkichi's food was delicious. I had katsu ju while yingqi had katsu don. The differnce lies in the presentation i guess and probably the sauce too. Mine was katsu with egg, onion, some kinda delicious sauce served in a small shallow claypot. The rice was served separately. Ohh.. i have to mention that there was a bowl of shredded raw lettuce without any dressing. When i was eating them, i felt like a rabbit. Then for yingqi's set, the katsu was served on top of a rice bed but i think there wasnt sauce. The green tea that was served was roasted green tea. It was more aromatic than the usual light green tea that we usually drink. Nice!

Walked through the whole of orchard to see the pretty Christmas lights. Love the lights this year because of the purpulish-blue colour and and the snow flakes lights. Economy is better so the lights get prettier too eh. Whoo~~ Im in the Christmas mood!! whee!!
