Today was probably the most fun day i have ever had in a long time. It was a reprieve from all the hustle and bustle of uni life. For the first time, I went dragon boating!!!! So exciting!!! Whoo Hoo!! It's a sport that relies alot on team effort and coordination. But anyhow, i still prefer kayaking cos it is more balanced since the effort used is distributed equally on both hands. But the plus point of dragon boat is that u wont capsize no matter how u shake the boat.

Too lazy to describe the details. My arms are starting to ache. And it's time to sleep. I have to wake up at 630 tmr to pull my entire family to go for morning walk/jog at ecp. I think i will sleep like a log.

Ph yes, before i forget, the reason how i managed to do dragon boating is yingqi. Her care grp/church organised a one-off activity for then and she invited me and yiki along. So yepp.. thanks alot yingqi!

Thant's us after a nice bath. All clean and fresh. Should have taken a before picture too!

I saw flies today. Lots of them and a whole lot of variety: red eyed, white eyed, sepia eyed, yellow body, ebony body, dumpy ones, vestigial, curled wings, male, females; all under the microscope that totally amplified the images. Kinda grossed out at first but after a while i got used to it. in fact, i thought it was kinda fun esp the part where we get to concussed the flies in the container using some chemical first before we could take them out and observe them under the microscope. Im not sure if they knew they were in danger or sth but i saw that alot of them seem to be shitting while they were semi-conscious. Funny. I thought the grossest thing ever was when a friend actually squashed one of the flies on the plate and we saw the flatted body under the microscope. The compound eyes which was red had stained the plate and the body liquid was squeezed out. yah.. nus lsm1102 students are a lil sadists.

And as part of out learning process, we were all coerced into being 'volunteers' for a genetics project conducted by the lecturer. Apparently, he wanted us to feel what it is like to be patients so that we will have a better understanding when we become geneticists in the future. *rolls eyes* That is just a perfect excuse to get our DNA samples and conduct skin prick tests on us for his study. And it was free of charge when other non lsm1102 students who really volunteered for the test actaully received a $10 co-op voucher!! While we got nothing for our efforts. Sheesh!
My skin prick test revealed that im allergic to dust mites. i had 3 huge red swellings on my arm after that (one of them is a positive control while the other 2 were diff types of dust mites) and it was tormenting. It was sooo itchy and had a stinging pain. My whole bench of pple were complaining that our swellings were getting huge and red. We made so much noise that the person in charge was so kan cheong and measured our swellings asap so that we could wash off the solutions. Using water to rinse our arms was heavenly!!

Oh and i need to mention that the mouth wash ( used to collect our DNA by rubbing our cheeks against our teeth to get cheek cells) which they said is salt and mineral water actually tasted awful and funny. I doubt it is the normal kinda salt that we use in our food. Gross-ness.

Lab today was really fun eh.. And the best thing of all is that we dont have to write any lab reports! Yeah! Labs should be like this in the first place!

Whenever others recommend to me to take this particular module, ask me to consider joining this activity or to lament about the horrendous modules they have to take in the next semester, I fell like shouting, "I dont have a next sem in nus to talk about!" It's sad but true for me. My future does not continue in nus. "In a few weeks , the sem will be over and it is holiday!" and I would be thinking, ' darnit, must it end so quickly?' That is why i am now treasuring every waking moment that i have now in school no matter how busy, tired, confused, frustrated, worried, kan cheong, unhappy i may be. Cos i noe i may not get back the same feeling again. I'm actually considering not telling my nus frens abt my overseas study and like what someone said, just disappear and dont turn up at sch in the next sem. But then again, i wont do that. I love them too much to abandone them without saying goodbye. In the mean time, i will take things easy and just go with the flow.

I will do my best to desensitize myself to push the unhappy memories to the back of my mind.
I will take a more laidback stance. Nvm if u dont understand what im talking about. Just a random thought

It is weird how someone can have a dramatic change. We were talking happily 2 days ago but now our exchange of words are a mere few typed words on the msn. I dont get it.

oh wells.. maybe im too sensitive and the writing of too many lab reports coupled with the staring of the computer for long periods of time is getting to me. If my myopia goes up again, i wont be surprised at all.

Time for the eyes to take a rest from the screen!

Time to spring clean my blog. Lotsa cobwebs forming around alr. *sweep, clean, wash*

This hectic week is finally over!! 3 CAs in a week. Whew!! I survived.. although i know on the spot after handing in my biochem paper today that i failed the test cos the lecturer announced the ans to us. Never mind... I dont care alr. Speaking of which, i realise that my heck care attitude is becoming occuring more often since i entered uni. It's kinda bad actually, considering that i'm gonna be a medical student in the near future. Right.. time to change

Feeling kinda high today despite the fact that i have to start doing 4 lab reports by this week. I seem to be only complaining abt the tonnes of work that i have to do on this blog.

Anw.. it was my first time going to arts fac today( yes, i noe. im sua gu) for luch after the test and i saw many ex sch mates there. Just realised that there are lotsa of my frens in arts and most of them are majoring in psychology. I think the market is very saturated with pple with a psych arts degree. Will all of them become psychologists in the end or will they, like most of science students, join the lucrative banking and finance sector, doing something that is totally unrelated to what they had studied?

I Want To Watch MOVIE!! That was kinda random..
